Crossing Borders needs willing and active individuals to spread awareness about the North Korean refugee crisis and to grow support for our ongoing work.
ways to get involved with crossing borders:
Volunteer Opportunities in South Korea
Elim Community is our way to serve North Korean refugees by offering free classes in the Incheon area. Classes include but are not limited to:
English (basic English, conversation English, kids Kindermusik)
Fitness (yoga, Pilates, strength/balance training)
Arts and crafts
Singing
If you have expertise or skills in any of the above or even something not listed that could be useful and enjoyable and helps build community, please complete the form below and we will be in touch.
Classes are by reservation only and are held weekly or bi-weekly, usually in the afternoons or evenings. Volunteers should speak basic Korean and have a heart to teach and share the gospel (when appropriate).
Volunteer Opportunities in the US
The best way to help in the US is to raise awareness in your school, church, office and other circles where you have influence.
Volunteers help Crossing Borders by:
Innovatively and creatively spreading the word in your community about our mission
Volunteering time and skills towards on-going and seasonal projects throughout the year
Praying for refugees, our missionaries, donors and staff
If you have specific skills you would like to apply to our mission, please complete a Volunteer Form below. There are both seasonal and on-going volunteer opportunities and we appreciate all the help we can get.
Volunteer Opportunities in China
There are no current opportunities to serve in China.
Due to the sensitive nature of our field work and for the safety of refugees, field workers and missionaries, when opportunities arise we are only able to consider volunteer who can easily blend in without inviting attention in China and can comfortably speak conversational Korean or Mandarin.
